Hi everyone, this is where I will be posting blogs from now on! I will post the blogs I posted on WildEarth about the leopards here too, so they are all together, as well as what I am going to be up too once I know what I will be doing!! :) I feel honoured to have been your guide for over a year and a half and look forward to the next chapter of my life with many more friends on board! Thank you for all your support and encouragement during such a wonderful and exciting experience that I am so proud and pleased to be able to say I have been apart of! This isn't a goodbye from me and I hope it isn't from you either!
Here is the link to my new calender, as before there is a large and a small version, with various pictures of the animals of Djuma we have come to love over the years, including Teddy and pals, the Nkuhuma lionesses and a tribute to the Gijima boys, vultures, elephants old and young and of course the leopards, the new cubs, the men in Karula's life and the lady herself!
Take care,
Tara
Thanks Tara..I will definitely be following your blog. You have become such a part of my life/routine, it is going to be very strange not waking up to you or seeing you every eve before bed. You and all the others have made my Love for Africa grow so very much stronger. I do hope to visit one day...maybe then we can have a chat around the campfire!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for doing this, Tara. Losing the drives is one thing, but the thought of losing contact with you (and Marc & Sebastien, too!) was my biggest heartbreak. I know you will find a job where your love of wildlife and your joy in life will follow you. Best wishes and look forward to seeing what you do next.

ReplyDeleteNot good-bye, but a new journey down a new path in life. We'll we happy to tag along and be a good friend along the way. Thank you for all the drives and great pictures and memories. But I'm sure more on the way in the future. Big Hugs!!!!
ReplyDeletedear tara, I've never chatted or commented while you or yr colleagues were driving because I have no profile on fb or twtr but I've been one of the hundreds silent keen and affectionate followers of yr drives. I love Africa and its wildlife so deeply! So far I've had the privilege to come to Africa for a dozen days every year and visit different places. Each time great memories travel back home with me and last till the following year. Watching yr drives has been a way to keep in touch in a way and feel less...nostalgic. I listened to you (more than watching, too little time!) in the morning while getting ready for work and often watched you in the afternoon when I got back from work. Now that everything is finishing I've realized how that habit had somehow turned into a kind of strange but fond relationship (friendship?). So tks for everything! I've done lots of game drives throughout most southern African countries and I can tell you: you and your friends have proved to be among the most competent, skilful and entertaining guides ever! Thank you very much for all the good time!

Tara, Thank you so much for the opportunity to keep in touch. There are no words to express what the end of drives means to me, but to be able to keep in touch with you is priceless. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHey Tara; by now i guess you are in the wonderful beaches of Mozambique. you deserve a good rest and to clear your mind from what i am sure was hard on you as well as Marc and all of us. nothing that i can write will express my feelings, i mean everyone else said it so much better...i have a hole in my heart where you guys filled in until now. you will be so missed, but i do hope you will come back soon enough. what are the amounts involved and what it takes to bring it back. until you guys come back to us i want to thank you so deeply for what you have done for all of us that made us better people, appreciating nature and wild life, you guys did it in such a way that never seen before. NO ONE before you, Marc and Seb (for the short time he was presenting) managed to get into everyone's hearts the way you and Marc have. you guys are most special, way beyond the average guide / presenter. its not just the knowledge, but the Magic that came along with it. it was not just a Job for you guys - it was a way of life that you love so much and we could all see and feel that.- tho you tried to put on a brave face for us, we could see how painful and heart breaking it was for you and Marc. you melted my heart as well as everyone else. i know you will do well with your talent, i"m sure you will have a bright future, with or without the LIVE drives, but i promise you that we will not be well without you guys. nothing and no one else can fill in the huge gap. if you had time to read a small part of the posts on Face book, you sure understand how we all value and cherish you guys. it has been the most joyful ride for just over 2 years now and you will always live in my heart. have a Merry Xmas with your family and harry back to us, so we can pick up from where you left. the WE family will do what ever it takes to bring you guys back. what must we do to make it happen? with all my love...Ofira, Israel.
ReplyDeleteReally miss spending time with You, Marc, Seb and the wild life everyday. I'm still going through withdrawal with no relief in site.
ReplyDeleteMiss the giggles and the dung quiz ! You will excel at whatever path you take in the future. I'll be following your adventures.
ReplyDeleteMiss everyone and everything. I hope we do get to hear from you, and where your new path leads. You are one awesome chic-let! Don't forget us!
